I really should have checked the weather forecast before deciding to take down the Bantu knots I'd been carrying around for over a week. Rain = Funny-looking Shrinkage. Natural hair problems. It was also cold. Summer, where art thou?
Not too long ago, I was asked to pick and review a dress from one of four French Connection categories. I chose one from the Party Dresses category.
I've wanted a pinafore dress for a while now and I'm glad I found this one. I'm not a huge fan of acquiring clothes that I'll only wear once and really I can see myself wearing this a lot, even during winter with an oversized black coat - which I'm yet to find - a turtle-neck top, 15-16 pairs of tights and boots. I may or may not be joking about the number of tights. Layering is essential. I freeze easily. I call myself 'Bones' for a reason. There's hardly any flesh or fat on my body to keep me warm.

The dress arrived on time and I fell in love as soon as I opened the box. The quality is pretty great! I got it in the smallest size available, a 6. I'd suggest sizing down if you want a tighter fit and don't plan on layering underneath though.
I found these flats in the Zara sale section. I posted a proper photo of them here. I bought them as a replacement for my old pair of black flats; its heels and soles are disintegrating. I love these new ones even though I slid twice while wearing them and almost lost my life in Deola's kitchen. The sunglasses, I got for a pound at H&M.
Deola, Chiamaka and I decided to ignore the cold and treat ourselves to hot waffles and ice-cream at Baskin Robbins afterwards.
