Relax, Take It Easy.
1.1.15
First post of the year. If you're reading this, I pray the year's going to be good for you.
I shot a few photos last month because I wanted to schedule fresh material for this month.
It's amazing how time flies, no? 1st January 2014 feels like it was just yesterday but my calendar tells me that it was 365 days ago. Quite a few things happened this past year, the most significant being the loss of my maternal grandmother. I know she's gone but there's a part of me that still doesn't believe it. My brain is struggling to accept that on the 12th of January, I won't make the annual birthday call.
A bit of advice I'll leave on here for you is to check up on people you love often. Show them you love them. Actions speak louder than words. Life is tricky and you never know when it'll be snatched away from you or your loved ones.
I've made a lot of mistakes and have got quite a few regrets - one of them being buying butterfly print pants in 2013.
Mistakes should be learnt from so I won't complain much - no more butterfly print pants, k.
I will admit, I only wanted the matching kimono which was on sale. Then I saw these in the sale rack and for some unknown reason, I took them to the counter with me. Turns out they were full price but I still paid for them. Well, after owning them for over a year and wearing them out only twice, I decided to make them outing pyjamas. You know, clothes you wear when you can't be bothered to dress up. After I shot these photos, I changed my mind.
Don't get me wrong, they are great pants and are okay quality but I felt silly walking around with butterflies on my bum. I had no problem wearing the matching kimono on it's own and only wore the pants with it 2 out of the 3 times I did wear them - here and here.
I still didn't wear the kimono that much as I favoured this one over it. I decided giving the set away would be the best thing to do.
It's all part of my "clutter-free life" plan.
Speaking of plans, I've been thinking a lot about my 2015 plans for this blog. I'm going to try to include more lifestyle-style posts. I want this to be more than just an outfit log as I've stated before. My life is more than just clothes, please.
At the moment though, my life is a bit dull so the plan here is to get out more. Meet new people. Travel. It doesn't have to be anywhere fancy. I plan to explore the UK in my spare time while I've still got this student visa. If my bank account balance co-operates, of course. To be honest, I'd rather spend my money travelling than on material items. I never used to be into travelling because most people I know would travel only for parties and I'm not about that life anymore. I won't waste my money just for a night of sweaty males trying to grope me and repetitive Afrobeat music. I need a better reason to buy a journey ticket.
I want to meet more bloggers and creatives. Collaborate with more brands I support. I plan to take more photos, improve my photography. Learn how to use a few of the Adobe Creative Cloud apps. Use that knowledge to improve this website and bring you better content.
I've got a lot more ideas and plans but it's time to stop talking and start doing. Focus on my goals and let the fruits of my labour speak instead.

So here I am, sitting pretty wearing a "can't be bothered" outfit and telling you guys but mostly myself to take it easy. Apart from the times when I make silly impulse decisions, I spend way too much time overthinking or worrying than actually doing and that needs to stop. One step at a time. I'm trying to not bite off more than I can chew. I know that if I take the time to plan properly, everything should go smoothly so that's exactly what I have to do.
Thank you for the good luck wishes in my last post.
Did anyone notice that I am a walking garden? Floral, leaf and butterfly print. No?
If you think about it, I'm actually a sitting garde... nvm.
What sort of posts would you like to see this year? Let me know.
