INSTAGRAM FOOD DIARY #1.
9.4.17
Hello, I hope you're all well. If you're an old reader, welcome back. If you're new, thanks for stopping by!
As you may or may not know, I have been in Abuja for a while now. Four months to be exact. Being the foodie that I am, I have eaten out way more times than I can count. Sometimes the blogger in me remembers to photograph my food before I dive in. Other times, the hunger takes over and I devour everything in sight asap. Here's a detailed post of the food porn I've shared on my Instagram since my return to the motherland.
GRILLS IN & OUT

Grills In & Out was recommended to me by a friend. He suggested that I try out the Mongolian bowl. Although he ended up disappointing me by showing up after I'd left, the food definitely did not. The Mongolian bowl is a combination of ingredients of your choice, stir-fried and served with either (normal?) rice or basmati. You're allowed three meat choices, four vegetable choices and unlimited sauce choices. It comes in two sizes, regular and large. These cost N3500 and N4000 respectively.
I had the regular sized bowl with basmati rice and my stir-fry was made up of beef, mixed seafood, shrimps, carrots, Chinese cabbage, sweet corn, spinach, garlic chilli sauce, chilli sauce, green curry sauce and 3G sauce. The end result was filling, delicious and extremely spicy, just the way I like savoury food. I washed it all down with a decent-sized glass of chapman which cost me N1000.

UNCLE D's
This was where Michelle and I met up for the first time. The restaurant was recommended to her by a friend. On the day we met up, they were closed for repairs but the kind owner let us in. We both had the Chicken Excellento burger which surpassed our expectations. The beef and chicken used at the restaurant are prepared fresh daily as are the buns. I'm very picky when it comes to burger buns (or bread in general). I tend to go for brioche buns to avoid unnecessary problems but these ones were nice! I've also tried their Deluxe burger and peppered chicken wings. It doesn't help that this restaurant is on my way home from work. I sometimes end up there when I leave work hungry!

GRAB & GO
Pretzels will always be a fave of mine. I mean, have you seen my Auntie Anne's post? (Update: I tried Auntie Anne's Nutella pull-a-part pretzel. It remains the messiest thing that I have ever eaten. I looked like a lost 6-year old standing in the middle of St. David's with chocolate spread all over my hands and lips. It was well worth it.)
I have my boss to thank for introducing me to Grab & Go. On the day they opened around the corner from my workplace, she got us pretzels to share. Being a creature of habit, I always go for cinnamon sugar pretzels and pretzel dogs. These cost N400 and N1000 respectively. This chain also offers fried chicken, bread, spiral potatoes and mocktails. They're currently opening new stores across Abuja. For a full list of outlets, visit grabandgo.com.ng
GOURMET PIZZA COMPANY

Words aren't enough to describe how wonderful this pizza was. I ordered the Diavalo pizza with extra mozzarella because mozzarella is bae. My only problem with it was that it wasn't as hot as I thought it would be considering the fact that chillies and chilli oil are part of the ingredients. The pizza cost N3600, extra cheese cost N400 and delivery cost N500.
I PLAN TO MAKE THIS A MONTHLY OR QUARTERLY ROUND-UP DEPENDING ON HOW OFTEN I EAT OUT. WHERE ARE YOUR FAVOURITE PLACES TO ORDER FROM OR EAT OUT IN ABUJA? I'VE GOT MY EYES ON THE MEXICAN DINER, STREET CAFE AND EDEN WELLNESS FOODS NEXT!
