When completing a look, it’s often important to take a look at the accessories you’re rocking. Accessories might not seem like such a huge deal, but they’re more important than you might think and it’s important to give them the credit they deserve. Many people wear accessories like gold chains, necklaces and so forth without actually having much of a plan. They’ll simply put them on and hope for it to look great with their outfit. Sadly, it’s not that easy to create a look that fits expensive pieces of jewellery, especially if you were gifted them or bought them on a whim.

If you want to look absolutely stunning with jewellery pieces, then here are a few tips that will make you stand out in a crowd:

WEAR ONE CENTREPIECE AND ONE CENTREPIECE ONLY
Whether it’s a large watch, a big sparkling necklace or massive ring, make sure there’s only ever one centrepiece in your outfit. The reason you limit yourself to one is that you don’t want the focus to constantly shift between the accessories. You’re trying too hard if you wear too many brand name jewellery pieces and it’s important to have some restraint or else you’ll end up looking terrible.

With the centrepiece chosen, you can then accessorize around it and pick more subtle, less attention-grabbing pieces. For instance, a pair of pearl earrings can make the excellent accompaniment to virtually any large necklace. They’re pronounced, but they’re not in the way and they don’t distract someone’s attention away from the jewellery around your neck.

USE DIFFERENT METALS IN YOUR OUTFIT
Every new outfit you plan with jewellery should contain a variety of different metals. Don’t stick to just a single metal like gold. Layer it with other types such as silver, platinum or even titanium. By mixing different colours and layering your jewellery, you create a richer and fuller look that couldn’t be achieved by just using a single type of metal.

Don’t be afraid to mix colours either. Golden bracelets often look amazing next to silver if they match, and it’s fine to use a silver necklace next to a gold one. Experiment with your colours and don’t be afraid to try something new as long as the look makes you feel comfortable.

MONEY ISN'T EVERYTHING
Yes, there are expensive rings, necklaces, earrings and so on. Yes, you can spend a ludicrous amount of money on just a single ring, but what’s the point? Accessories are added to an outfit to complete it. The price of your accessories shouldn’t be a determining factor to how well you’ve dressed.

Look at cheaper alternatives for things like rings by skipping the local jewellery and looking online instead. Many major brands have their own jewellery lineup that is affordable, looks amazing and are perfectly fine to layer or stack. In other words, stop thinking of expensive jewellery as the only go-to that you have. Much like fashion, if you’re willing to search around and avoid brand names, you’ll find plenty of unique jewellery pieces to use in your collection!
